Lisa Daniels appointed McIntosh Gallery Director

McIntosh Gallery, London, ON

Western University is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Daniels as Director of McIntosh Gallery. Currently the Executive Director and Curator of the MacLaren Art Centre in Barrie, Ontario, Lisa brings to Western more than 20 years of progressive management experience in the cultural and public art gallery sector. In her previous role as Director and Curator of the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery in Sarnia, Lisa successfully increased community engagement with the gallery through innovative exhibitions, ancillary programming and community partnerships. While leading the gallery in Sarnia, Lisa also began working on her PhD at Western in Art and Visual Culture (Collecting, Curating and Museum Histories and Practices), to better understand the values and motivations of the next generation of curators, artists, administrators and gallery visitors as she aims to discover new, artistic-driven operational models.

With a demonstrated track record in designing and implementing future-driven strategic plans and artistic visions, coupled with her experience and expertise in developing creative partnerships with local communities, Lisa will bring strong leadership and management skills to our operations and programs while overseeing the McIntosh Gallery Collection.
